💓💓💓 I had my own speculations about going to Sri Lanka, but I would have regretted it if I had not gone. It solved the double purpose of spending with my mom and my mother-in-law and also making new friends at the same time exploring the country. Many brahmin priests were there in the temple. We were during navratri time and there was a grand procession. Devotees can offer fruits to the deity and distribute outside. The temple is worth the visit due to its serenity and if you are tamil speaking person you will enjoy more in conversing there. A visit to Ahobilam, Andhra Pradesh

The head represents Tirupathi where Lord Balaji is worshipped, the body is Ahobilam where Lord Narasimha dev is worshipped and the tail represents SriSailam.  Ahobilam is a main place of worship for Lord Narasimha dev as the deities are svayambu (appeared on their own). They are known as Nava-Narasimha dev temples.  It is not easy to take the darshan of the deities alone since 2 temples are located inside the forest and 4 on the mountains. It is best to travel with a group of devotees. We took 2 days to take darshan of all 9 temples along with 2 more temples. Eluthingal Pandal  (எழுதிங்கள் சீர் பந்தல்) (This pic is from internet) 🧺🧺🧺 Eluthingal Seeru 🧺🧺🧺 This ceremony is done for the Sumangali women who is approaching middle age in the Kongu Vellalar Gounder community. There are certain ceremony done for the women before reaching this stage.  💁💁 Pre-requisite 💁💁 1. For certain kullam/kootam it is required to remove the inauspiciousness before eluthingal seeru (எலுதிங்கள் சீர்). It is called Irul Kazhikarathu (இருள் கழிக்கரது) 2. Ponga Seeru should be done before Eluthingal Seeru. 3. All the expenses are borne by the parents of the girl. 👀👀 Reasons 👀👀 1. Empowerment of women in the community.
